ALCE CDE's expertise in fire tank manufacturing
For over 50 years, ALCE CDE has established itself as a leader in the design and manufacture of storage solutions, including fire defense tanks. With unrivalled expertise and one of the largest production capacities in France, ALCE CDE is perfectly positioned to meet your fire-reservoir needs.
The underground fire tank: a discreet and effective solution
Among the various solutions we offer, the underground fire tank is particularly appreciated for its discretion and efficiency. This tank is buried underground, preserving the aesthetics of the landscape while providing a reserve of fire water ready for use when needed. We offer these tanks at competitive prices, without compromising on quality or safety, and can also design and manufacture horizontal tanks to suit your specific project requirements.
The underground fire reserve
Our underground fire tanks are designed in compliance with the NFE 86-410 standard and meet all fire safety requirements. They offer a reliable and durable solution for storing water for fire protection.
Manufactured from welded steel, our fire-fighting tanks guarantee perfect watertightness for water storage, and ensure immediate availability of water in the event of an emergency, for optimum protection of your facilities and spaces. With volumes ranging from 1.5m³ to 150m³, and diameters from Ø1250 to Ø3000 mm, we can support you right through to delivery of your DFCI tanks on site.
Numerous accessories are available to complement the reservoir (slab frame, manhole cover, float valve, suction strainer, quick-release padlockable manhole, quiet inlet, HBE hatch, etc.).
The overhead fire reserve
Our aerial fire hydrants comply with NF EN 12285-2 standard, thus meeting fire protection requirements. These fire tanks can be fitted with a quick-opening manhole that can be padlocked with a knurled screw.
Manufactured from welded, single-walled steel, our fire hydrants guarantee perfect watertightness for water storage, and ensure immediate availability of water in an emergency. With volumes ranging from 1.5m³ to 120m³, and diameters from Ø1250 to Ø3000 mm, we can support you right through to delivery of your fire hydrants to your site.
Numerous accessories are available to complement the reservoir (cradles, access platform, access ladder, guardrail, frost-proof box, float valve, suction with strainer, padlockable quick-opening manhole, quiet inlet, HBE trapdoor, etc.).

Our FAQs
How does a fire reserve work
A fire tank is a water reservoir used to supply fire-fighting equipment. It enables firefighters to draw the water they need to fight a fire. To ensure a sufficient flow of water, the tank must be kept at a certain fill level.
What is the volume of a steel fire reserve
The volume of a steel fire tank can vary according to the specific needs of each site. However, most fire tanks have a capacity ranging from 30 to 120 cubic meters. It is important to note that the volume of the tank must be sufficient to enable effective intervention in the event of a fire.
What are the standards for burying a fire hydrant?
The standard for the manufacture of an underground fire tank in France is NFE 86-410. This standard sets out the requirements for the design, manufacture and installation of welded steel tanks for the storage of water not intended for human consumption. Ensuring that underground fire tanks comply with this standard is essential to guarantee their effectiveness and reliability in preventing and fighting fires.
