ALCE CDE's expertise in DFCI (Defense des Forêts Contre l'Incendie) tank manufacturing

For over 50 years, ALCE CDE has established itself as a leader in the design and manufacture of storage solutions, including fire-fighting tanks (DFCI). With unrivalled expertise and one of the largest production capacities in France, ALCE CDE is perfectly positioned to meet your DFCI (Défense des Forêts Contre l’Incendie) tank requirements.

The DFCI tank: an indispensable fire-fighting tool

DFCI (Défense des Forêts Contre l’Incendie) cisterns are water storage tanks dedicated to fire-fighting. These tanks are designed to provide a reserve of water in the event of a fire, enabling firefighters to act quickly and efficiently. At ALCE CDE, we understand the crucial importance of these tanks in firefighting. That’s why we make every effort to design DFCI tanks that meet the highest standards of quality, safety and durability.

The underground DFCI tank (Defense des Forêts Contre les Incendies)

Our underground DFCI tanks are designed in accordance with the NFE 86-410 standard and meet fire safety requirements. These DFCI tanks offer a reliable, long-lasting solution for storing water to defend forests against fire.

Manufactured from welded steel, our DFCI tanks guarantee perfect watertightness for water storage and ensure immediate availability of water in the event of an emergency. With volumes ranging from 1.5m³ to 150m³, and diameters from Ø1250 to Ø3000 mm, we can support you right through to delivery of your DFCI tanks on site.

Numerous accessories are available to complement the reservoir (slab frame, manhole cover, float valve, suction strainer, quick-release padlockable manhole, quiet inlet, HBE hatch, etc.).

The aerial DFCI tank (Defense des Forêts Contre les Incendies)

Our aerial DFCI tanks comply with standard NF EN 12285-2, thus meeting fire protection requirements. These DFCI tanks are fitted with a quick-opening manhole that can be padlocked with a thumbscrew.

Manufactured from welded, single-wall steel, our DFCI tanks guarantee perfect watertightness for water storage, and ensure immediate availability of water in the event of an emergency. With volumes ranging from 1.5m³ to 120m³, and diameters from Ø1250 to Ø3000 mm, we can support you right through to delivery of your DFCI tanks on site.

Numerous accessories are available to complement the reservoir (cradles, access platform, access ladder, guardrail, frost-proof box, float valve, suction with strainer, padlockable quick-opening manhole, quiet inlet, HBE trapdoor, etc.).

DFCI (Defense des Forêts Contre les Incendies) tank with HBE trapdoor

Our DFCI fire tanks can be fitted with HBE hatches specially designed for water-bombing helicopters. Our DFCI HBE fire tanks are manufactured to NF E 86-410 or NF EN 12285-2 standards. Our innovative HBE hatch design ensures fast, efficient recharging of water bomber helicopters (HBEs), enabling rapid, effective response to forest fires and other emergencies. Made from welded steel, our DFCI HBE tanks are robust, durable and easy to use. Our HBE fire tanks are designed to meet the specific needs of aerial fire-fighting services.

Our FAQs

A DFCI tank is a water reservoir used to supply fire-fighting equipment. It enables firefighters to draw the water they need to fight a fire. To ensure sufficient water flow, the tank must be kept at a certain fill level.

The volume of a steel DFCI tank can vary according to the specific needs of each site. However, most DFCI tanks have a capacity ranging from 30 to 120 cubic meters. It’s important to note that tank volume must be sufficient to enable effective intervention in the event of a fire.

The standard for the manufacture of an underground DFCI (Defense des Forêts Contre les Incendies) tank in France is NFE 86-410. This standard sets out the requirements for the design, manufacture and installation of welded steel tanks for the storage of water not intended for human consumption. Ensuring that buried DFCI tanks comply with this standard is essential to guarantee their effectiveness and reliability in preventing and fighting fires.
